Welcome

The Diabetes Transplant Unit (DTU) is a cutting-edge research group that aims to find a means of reversing type-I diabetes (insulin-dependent diabetes), in humans.

The DTU is based in Randwick, Sydney at the Prince of Wales Hospital, which is a University of New South Wales teaching hospital.  It has a dedicated team of 20 scientists that have both academic and technical expertise.

2007 Annual Report

 
The Chicago Diabetes Project

The Diabetes Transplant Unit is part of this unique collaboration of world-renowned scientists, physicians, engineers, chemists and molecular biologists from three continents working together to cure diabetes as fast as possible. The focus of the project is encapsulation of insulin-producing cells for insulin dependent diabetes.
